10 Facts About Me.

Today I wanted to let you in to my world a little bit more and share a few facts about me that maybe you don't know.

1. No one is allowed to sing 'Happy Birthday' to me.
I know...I'm weird but this is a reality for me.
Ever since I was a child I would become absolutely overwhelmed by the attention and would burst into tears. Even from the age of about 2 I would become hysterical.
You all know about my struggles with social anxiety and this is proof of just how long it has been a problem. Being the focal point of a room full of people is intolerable to me. It honestly makes me want to shrivel up and die and always has.
I am happy to sing to other people but the rule is to never make me the centre of attention or single me out in any way and luckily all my family and friends know and respect that.

2. I hate horror films.
Like, seriously. I do not understand the fascination with them. I know a lot of people enjoy them but I just don't get it. I can't comprehend the idea of voluntarily watching something that'll terrify you. Isn't the world scary enough?!

3. I love watching YouTube videos.
I love chilling out and watching my favourite channels.
My favourite YouTubers are BitsAndClips and Louise Pentland aka Sprinkle of Glitter. I actually prefer Louise's vlogging channel SprinkleofChatter.

4. My taste in music is so diverse
I love the 80's classics, I love a bit of indie music, nothing beats a bit of old school Rihanna.. I like Nickelback, I love David Gray... And Queen is always a good idea. Ooh Hozier is always a good idea too. I love music so much.

5. Quotes are my thing.
If you were to scroll through my camera roll right now the amount of quotes you'd see is embarrassing. I absolutely love finding a quote for every emotion and every situation.

One of my personal favourites.

6. I can't deal with false lashes.
I swear, if you can apply lashes flawlessly then you are gifted.
I have SO much trouble with those bloody things.

7. I always feel inadequate.
This is a bit of a deep one but it is a big fact about me.
I never feel good enough for anyone of anything and that means I turn down a lot of things and a lot of people. I feel like I can sometimes be perceived as rude or distant but it's simply because I feel uncomfortable around most people because of that feeling. I feel like I'm not good enough to be in people's circles or lives. This does put a lot of strain on relationships/friendships but it is what it is.

8. My favourite book is Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig.
This book is incredible.
If I could recommend one book to you, it would be this one.
Every single person should own a copy.

9. I have never been in a proper relationship.
Yep, I'm 21 years old and have never fallen in love or 'got serious' with someone.
I have yet to find someone that makes love easy.
Everything is much tougher with my bipolar and my high social anxiety levels and so I tend not to bother. I like being in my bubble. I'm too anxious to be anywhere else.

10. Cats are by far my favourite animal.
I LOVE cats. I am the epitome of crazy cat lady.
I am not kidding, I have crossed the street so I could stroke a cat.
D'you think if I went out and shook some cat treats that all the cats would follow me? Like the pied piper?
*Queue visions of me running through the hills like Julie Andrews, shaking my cat treats with thousands of cats running after me. That's the dream people*

I also talk to every cat I see when I'm out...
I avoid people like the plague but cats? I actively seek them out.

So that's me.
After reading this I'll be surprised if you return for future posts (ha..ha?) but I certainly hope you do.

If you have any post suggestions for me, do let me know as I'd love to hear them.

Have a good week!

  2. Ooh we have a couple of things in common! I also cannot bear horror films - I'm such a wuss and I don't know how anyone can find them entertaining.

Also a big fan of Marie Bits and Clips! Her videos are so wholesome. I can't wait to see what she names her new baby
