Soothing Summer Skin With SBC*

Now if you're a regular reader of my blog you're fully aware of my obsession with SBC.
It is by far my favourite skincare brand out there right now and it's always the first thing I reach for.

I may have mentioned them before in a post or two.

I'm gonna give you a bit of background into SBC or Simply Beautiful Collection if you prefer.
SBC is a British beauty brand founded in 1988. They have many years of botanical knowledge behind them. Their aim is to harness the power of plants and naturally derived ingredients.
Their ranges are an inexpensive way to have a the experience of a spa at home.
SBC is practical, effective and affordable.

I first fell in love with SBC after seeing their gels on QVC. I ordered a multitude of gels as they were on offer but propolis was and is by far my favourite. It quickly became my holy grail skincare product.

Propolis skincare gel saved my skin.

I used to suffer so badly with dry patches on my face and no exaggeration this product fixed it. From the first use my skin felt supple, much smoother and replenished. Over time the benefits of this gel became more apparent. My skin's texture has evened out, my skin got its bounce back and my skin feels much plumper and revitalised.

 It's honestly like liquid magic.

For us Brits the sunny spells are few and far between but when they do make an appearance it's easy to get caught out. It's so common after a sun day to see adults and even children burnt by the sun. Sunburn is something you want to avoid at all costs but if you've been caught out then SBC have got some brilliant soothing and cooling gels to come to your rescue.

Of course you can use propolis as it's packed full of amino acids, vitamins and minerals and is the perfect healer for chapped and damaged skin but if you're looking for a gel that actively soothes and cools the skin then the Aloe Vera gel is your new best friend.

Aloe vera is renowned for its sunburn soothing properties. This is the gel you need to provide instant relief from burnt, stressed or sensitive skin. If you've been caught out by the sun and are a little overheated then apply this liberally over the affected area and just wait. The gel soaks in in minutes and gets to work immediately to calm the skin.
You know what else this is great for? Soothing your post shave skin. Lets face it, in the summer our legs take a bit of a hit. After months of being hidden under jeans and leggings, the legs have to get used to being shaved again. I for one suffer with really bad shaving rash and the aloe gel is so good at calming my skin down and
The gel itself is so lightweight. A lot of aftersun products are cream formulas which leave a sticky residue on your skin but these gels are so quickly absorbed into the skin.

If your face is in crisis then the Cucumber gel is what you need to reach for. This facial gel is made to soothe the face but also works to reduce dark circles (erm yes please).
I personally found that the gel reduced the puffiness I get around my eyes especially in the months when the pollen is out in full force and my hayfever is attacking me from every angle. I really liked the fact it made my skin a lot fresher. Cucumber is so good for that.
This is a much easier and quicker version of the cucumber on the eyes trick you see in the films and spas.

Want cooling, soothing, nurturing and repairing? No problem.
 SBC has got you.
As the gels are water based they mix seamlessly allowing you to fully customise your treatments and really have it all. The formulas absorb in minutes and leave absolutely no residue.

That was one of the things that really surprised me about the gels- your skin literally sucks them up and takes every single bit of goodness in. It's magical.

The best thing about SBC and their products is that they're suitable for the whole family. There are a few gels that are quite strong and for specialised problems but on the whole the brand is safe to use on anyone. Even with sensitive skin my whole family adores SBC. I don't let them get a look in with the propolis gel but the collagen bath and shower creme is a particular favourite.

The brand is SLS and paraben free and even better than that, SBC embrace a no animal testing policy making them cruelty free! They also ensure they keep their packaging to a minimum making them even better for the environment.

If you're not sure and don't want to fully commit to a product then you can buy some 8ml samples on the SBC website. These samples are also handy if you're going on holiday. Buy some gels and mix and match until you find your perfect combo.

Any product you buy from SBC is a winner.

*I just wanna say a big thank you to the lovely people at SBC who sent me some products to try as well as my all time favourite Propolis gel. I am so thrilled and thankful.
