What's In My Bag*

I've never actually done one of these posts before but I really enjoy reading them
I just got this beautiful bag from TK Maxx and of course I wanted to use it straight away despite it actually being a birthday present from my mum.

When changing my bags over I was forced to go through all the shit I had in there amongst which was 4 sugar packets, 6 hair bobbles, 2 clips and a couple of rogue yoghurt raisins. That's the sort of random rubbish that ends up in my handbag and I'm sure after a few weeks this bag will be like a lucky dip again. I think I only ever empty my bag when I change them over or get a new one...

A couple of essentials I always carry in my bag are my phone, keys, bus pass, hair band or clip, a straw for my sensitive teeth and my purse which mainly contains reward cards and the odd coin. I love using my little St Tropez purse which my aunt bought for me from her holiday in France. I love it and it holds all my cards without being big and bulky.

Something I never leave the house without is a hand sanitiser. I have to have it on my or I just feel uneasy. I don't always need to use it but it's good to know it's there. Touching doors, handles, toilets etc... I wanna kill those germs. This Ice Cream Sundae one from Primark smells amazing too so it leaves your hands smelling really nice which is an added bonus.

I tend to choose a lip product(s) I love and keep that in my bag. I pick my favourite colour at the time and that colour usually goes with everything. Currently that's the I Heart Revolution liquid lipstick in the shade Nebula. It's a lovely dark peachy pink shade that sparkles whenever you rub your lips together. It's wonderful and works well with the essence Smoothie gloss (peach) which I absolutely didn't just buy because I love the smell. Besides its glorious smell it's actually a lovey non sticky formula that goes over any other lip product. I also have a cherry Pepsi lip balm in there which again, smells amazing. Although the product is a pale red, it gives no colour when applied so it's just a good way to hydrate and protect my lips. I can't actually drink cherry Pepsi (I have no idea why but the cherry flavouring messes with my breathing. I have that with a few things actually) so this is my little treat and as close as I can get to the real thing. It's nice.

Another thing I always have in my bag is a pen (or two). You should always have a pen on you because you never know when you or someone else might need one. I also carry round my Dan & Phil pencil because...I like to.

I like to carry some sort of sweet, mint or chewing gum because I find it helps when I'm feeling particularly anxious like on public transport or in a crowded space. It's just a way of giving me a focal point and something to centre myself on. Plus, they taste nice.

Finally something I've recently added to my bag - the Finishing Touch Flawless from JML.
The reason I have this in my bag is because I am AWFUL at shaving so often I miss bits and only realise when I'm out of the house. I take this with me to get rid of those bits. It has a built in light so you can catch all the hairs and is safe for all skin types and tones. It also comes with a little brush for quick cleaning. It's gentle enough to be used every day or as and when you need it. I

I mean, it isn't quiet so there isn't really a way to be discreet about it unless you're in a car or something but it does the job and to be honest I don't really care how loud it is as long as I can get rid of those strays. Otherwise I'll just keep torturing myself over the hairs I can blatantly see staring up at me. I swear it feels like they're actually mocking me.

It isn't actually advertised for that but it works for me so I'm going with it.

Its main use is for fine hairs like facial hair etc. Because it's hypoallergenic it lessens the risk of skin reactions from using it. It really is incredibly gentle and it doesn't matter how many times you go over the same patch, it doesn't cause any burns or rash. It's really working for me.

What is one thing you ALWAYS carry in your bag besides the essentials?

  2. Love reading these types of posts, I don't have much in my handbag except the essentials like my purse, phone and keys. I've always got a pen in there for work and there's usually loads of old bus tickets and hair grips lying around in the bottom somewhere! This has made me want to be more organised and sort my handbag out!

  3. I love what’s in my bag posts! Can completely relate to only emptying when changing over to a new bag! I’m like you I always have to have a hand sanitiser with me at all times- you never know when a loo will have no soap or the kids touch something yucky with nowhere to wash hands!
Love your new bag too it’s supercute 😍

  4. I love these posts! My handbag is basically a suitcase and I carry everything around with me. There's always about 10 lip products in there because I forget to take them out, a little pouch with some painkillers, tampons etc and a notebook and pen as well as the obvious, purse, phone, keys. I always feel like I'm missing stuff if I have a smaller bag x

    1. Yeah I know what you mean.
I'm doing a separate post about all the health related bits and bobs I carry with me because there are so damn many. Thankfully this bag is bigger than it looks and holds quite a lot!

  8. I love your bag it's so cute and dainty!! My bag used to get so messy, I'd find all sorts at the bottom of it, recently though I've stopped using a handbag as it just ended up being filled it with junk.

  11. I always want to know what is in people's bags! I've never seen the hand gel in Primark, but it looks great. I always carry a pack of tissues like a nana and have about 30 lipsticks at the bottom.
